2018 SUBARU OUTBACK

The successful debut of the new Subaru Outback took place in the spring of 2017 at the New York auto show. Despite the fact that motorists did not see significant changes, the car has certainly become more stylish and sporty. Subaru Outback 2018: configuration and prices, the technical characteristics of which we will now consider, will be an excellent assistant, both in urban trips and in long trips on suburban highways.

Exterior design

Subaru Outback 2018 immediately catches the eye thanks to its modern appearance, starting with the front bumper with a wide air intake at the bottom and ending with a hexagon-shaped grille at the top. Complemented by a highly visible polished bar and the carmaker's logo, it acts as a kind of accent and divides the grille in half. The lower cover painted in the lower part in a matte black color perfectly copes with its purpose – protection from stones and sand. It runs along the entire rear bumper and performs its functions admirably. Large fog lamps located at the corners of the bumper decorate the appearance of the car and perfectly cope with their direct functions.

With a side view, you can clearly see the significantly raised path and expanded roof area. The wheel diameter depends on the 2018 Subaru Outback modification:

• The 2.5 i Premium has 17-inch wheels
• The Limited and Touring versions have 18-inch wheels

All new models have light-alloy wheels.

The rear of the car is equipped with a hatch that opens up. This is facilitated by the presence of an upper hinge and a built-in spoiler that extends the roof edge. Wrapped in the rear fenders, the taillights are a kind of continuation for the protruding line of the upper profile. Its logical conclusion is the above-described covering in a matte black design. 

Standard version of Subaru Outback 2018 model year is equipped with rails, the crossbars of which are removed. At the same time, the Touring version is additionally equipped with low-profile grilles with a silver finish, which provides a sense of additional comfort.

Interior

Despite the fact that the restyled model in the new body has not undergone any changes, its interior has become much more comfortable and at the same time safer. Multimedia capabilities have also increased.

First of all, the new design of the center console is noticeable. The base remains the old one, only the buttons and switches that take into account the changed hardware. The redesigned dial of the watch has increased in size. Additional comfort is provided by a quieter interior environment, provided by the additional accuracy of the transmission settings. Wind noise is also almost not felt inside the car thanks to the improved aerodynamic properties of the side mirrors, improved sound insulation of the windshield and increased strength of both the rear and front wheels.The new line of super crossovers also includes a set of new materials for interior decoration. The steering wheel of the car has become more sensitive, and the upper and middle configuration received a seam on the front panel.

Especially innovative interior renovation is felt in the multimedia system of the car. The following is installed here:

Please note that the navigation system immediately provides for a full update of additional maps for 3 years.

Technical characteristics of the updated climate control system allow faster cooling of the car interior when the air conditioner is running. The system also allows you to ensure an even distribution of temperature in the cabin between separate interior compartments. Now the internal power supply can remain on if necessary even after the ignition is switched off.

The manufacturer offers two complete sets of Subaru Outback:

• Standard 2.5-liter four-cylinder
• Six-cylinder 3.6 liters

The flat configuration of the installed power unit causes a lower position of the center of gravity.
