The BMW 4-Series 2018-2019 car model is a novelty of the Bavarian manufacturers, which differs from its predecessors of this class in many indicators and aspects.

Engine, transmission, fuel consumption

Similar to most BMW cars, the fourth series comes with rear-wheel drive. An all-wheel drive system (called xDrive) is optional.

An 8-speed automatic transmission is standard, but on the rear-wheel-drive 430i coupe, as well as on the rear-wheel-drive and all-wheel-drive versions of the 440i coupe, there can be a manual transmission.

The BMW 430i version is equipped with a 2-liter four-cylinder turbocharged engine with 248 horsepower and 350 Nm of torque.

According to the US environmental protection Agency (EPA), fuel consumption in a rear-wheel drive coupe with an automatic transmission per 100 km of mileage is impressive - 9.8 l in the city, 6.9 l on the highway and on the average (mixed cycle) 8.7 l.

Using a manual transmission allows you to change these indicators to 11.2 l in the city, 7.1 l on the highway and 9.4 l in the average (mixed mode).

Thanks to the combination of all-wheel drive system and automatic transmission, the 430i xDrive coupe has a fuel consumption 10.2 l in the city, 7.1 l on the highway and 8.7 l / on average per 100 km.
