2020 Volvo S60
Volvo is usually in no hurry to change its model range, but each new product is completely superior to its predecessor in both technical characteristics and equipment, but the price also becomes significantly higher. But fans of the Swedish brand have already realized that one or another model with index 90 has appeared - soon expect the sixtieth, which is a little simpler and smaller, but at the same time more affordable. This happened with crossovers and station wagons, and now the sedan is next.
Design
The new Volvo S60, which debuted at the end of 2019, is only 20 cm shorter than the flagship S90 model, is equipped no worse, but is noticeably cheaper.
Compared to the older model, the Volvo S60 looks lighter and more dynamic, because the company is positioning the new product as a sports sedan. At the same time, the style is “Volvo” - one hundred percent. The characteristic curved radiator grille and LED headlights “Thor's hammer” have become the hallmark of modern Scandinavian design.
The Volvo S60's interior is surprisingly spacious for a mid-size sedan, with only slightly less headroom in the back row than in the S90. And in terms of interior decoration and equipment, the S60 is in no way inferior to the older model.
Small interior details: the start/stop button, the driving mode selection drum are the same as on older models. As an option, the Volvo S60 can be equipped with premium Bowers & Wilkins acoustics with 15 speakers. None of the competitors in this price segment have this. One of the sound options is no less than “Gothenburg Concert Hall”.
Ergonomics is impeccable, except that control of all minor functions is displayed on the multimedia system screen with small symbols, which requires getting used to and distracts from driving. The force on the convex buttons on the steering wheel is too small - they are easy to catch accidentally.
