2021 CADILLAC CT4 SPORT

Cadillac CT4 2021-2022 is a new sedan from the American manufacturer, which appeared as a replacement for ATS in the manufacturer's lineup. Initially, a sports version of the CT4-V was presented, now “civilian” models have appeared. This is a small car designed to compete with the German trio. Sales have already started, although the model has not yet reached the Russian market. Let's take a full look at the car to see if it's better than the competition.

Design

The appearance of the sedan is surprising, first of all, this is done by the unusual shape of the LED head optics, which has a strong descent down. The large radiator grille is shaped like the company logo with chrome strips all over. The bumper of the car received plastic lining for the style of air intakes, below a wide false grille with partitions for real air intakes.

There is not enough chrome on the side, so beloved by American drivers. It is found on door handles and glass edging. Otherwise, these are smooth lines with a slight swelling of the wheel arches and a lower recess above the threshold. The CT4 runs on 17-inch wheels, with 18-inch wheels optional.

The rear trunk lid was a hit with the sporty look enthusiasts. Its shape with a massive protrusion in the manner of a spoiler really looks aggressive. Diode lights follow the shape of the head optics with downwards. The bumper at the bottom has a serious protrusion for a plastic lining, into which rectangular exhaust pipes are integrated. The manufacturer began to glue an additional nameplate with a number indicating the moment of the motor.

Interior

The car belongs to an expensive brand, so faux leather lining, some aluminum inserts and good functionality are used inside. The buyer has 8 color options for leather upholstery.

The front seats are comfortable with good lateral support, optional ventilation and massage. Behind the usual sofa with a folding armrest. In general, there is enough free space.

The pilot of the CT4 gets a 3-spoke multi-wheel with shift paddles. There is no classic gear selector under the steering wheel, it has been moved to the tunnel. In the sports version, the shape of the steering wheel changes somewhat, and a graphic tachometer line appears at the top. The dashboard was made on large dial gauges and a very informative display in the middle.

An 8-inch touchscreen multimedia display with voice recognition is elegantly integrated into the center console. Below, there are two pucks for managing audio tracks. A scattering of aluminum control buttons for separate climate control is stylishly made. Even lower, there is the line of buttons for controlling the rest of the car's functions.

Specifications

The range of engines of the American sedan consists of three gasoline engines with a turbine of quite high power.

The base one is a 2.0-litre direct-injection engine that puts out 237 hp and 350 H*m of torque.

The next in the Cadillac CT4 line is a 2.7-liter twin-turbo 4-cylinder engine, from which engineers squeezed 309 horses and 472 units of torque. Despite only 4 cylinders, the engine turns off half of the cylinders on the highway to save fuel.

CT4-V - version with the same 2.7-liter engine, although the power will be increased to 325 horses and 515 H*m of torque. Such a sedan will pick up the first hundred in 5.1 seconds, and the maximum speed will be limited to 273 km/h.

The base engine works together with an 8-speed automatic transmission, the rest of the engines got a 10-speed automatic Hydra-Matic 10L60. The sedan is initially rear-wheel drive, an all-wheel drive model is optionally offered, connecting the front axle through a clutch. The sports version also has an adjustable limited-slip differential at the rear.
