The Chrysler Pacifica, like its minivan brethren from other manufacturers, remains in the shadows in the SUV era. But they are still in demand and continue to evolve towards providing maximum convenience for families, adding options such as a built-in vacuum cleaner and retractable Stow ‘n Go seats.

And the Pacifica is the only minivan that offers the option of folding the second-row seats into the floor to create more cargo space.

Every Pacifica comes with a 3.6-liter V-6 engine under the hood. Power is sent to the wheels through a nine-speed automatic transmission. The FWD Pacifica can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 6.7 seconds. However, not all Pacificas are equipped equally. Fuel consumption is various - 12.4/8.4 liters.

The Pacifica Hybrid uses a V-6 engine mated to two electric motors. The total system power is 260 hp. Like its gas-powered sibling, the Pacifica Hybrid is quite powerful. During testing, we accelerated from 0-100 km/h in just 7.4 seconds. The Pacifica Hybrid has a pure electric range of 50 km.

Interior

Airy, spacious, and loaded with cubbies, cup holders, storage bins and connectivity options, the Pacifica has all the essential options minivan buyers love. Fit, finish and materials are all decent, but there are still a few low-quality plastic parts throughout the cabin. Upscale Limited and Pinnacle models feature taller center consoles that blend more seamlessly into the dashboard, giving these models a more SUV-like driving feel.

The plush Pinnacle model comes with quilted leather upholstery and even offers matching lumbar cushions for the second-row captain's chairs. Pacifica's standard Stow 'n Go seats have fewer cushions than competitors. This is due to the fact that these seats are supposed to fold into the floor of the van. To compensate for the loss of the Pacifica Hybrid's second-row Stow 'n Go (the battery pack takes up all the space under the floor), Chrysler engineers added extra cushions to the standard captain's chairs. An in-line vacuum cleaner is available as an option, but it takes up space that could otherwise be devoted to the optional mini spare tire.

Technologies

In 2022, the model received several new technologies. Chrysler has added a maximum charge indicator to hybrid models to let drivers know when the batteries are optimally charged. A 10.1-inch touchscreen, Android Auto, Apple CarPlay are standard. Chrysler equips the Touring and Touring L trim levels with a six-speaker audio system, while the Limited trim level comes with a premium 13-speaker Alpine system. The top-end Pacifica Pinnacle trim features a Harman Kardon system with 19 speakers and a subwoofer. Navigation is standard on Limited and Pinnacle trims.
