2022 JAGUAR XF P300 R-DYNAMIC SE
Historically, Jaguar has liked to remain competitive in various segments of the automotive market. However, it seems that this manufacturer has decided to focus only on the SUV market, since until the arrival of the next-generation all-electric XJ, it remained the only sedan offered by the British automaker, which has built its premium reputation on a traditional four-door body style. Its production began in 2007.
Characteristics
The 2022 XF is powered by a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine that comes in two power levels. The P250 version produces 246 horsepower, while the P300 generates 296 horses. Both engines are mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission, but only the less powerful one offers rear- or all-wheel drive. The P300 comes exclusively with all-wheel drive.
The 8-speed automatic transmission features chrome paddle shifters for smooth shifting.
The XF's steering moves expertly from light at low speed to weighty at high speed. The soft brake pedal also has a gradual response.
Fuel consumption is 10.7 l/100 km for the urban cycle and 7.8 l/100 km on the highway, the average consumption is 9.4 l/100 km.
Interior, comfort and cargo
The FX certainly has an upgraded interior, with high-quality materials, full-grain leather upholstery, and heated seats. The sedan features power front seats with lumbar support and memory, as well as easy-folding rear seats.
The rotary dial on the center console and the exterior vents that open up on the dashboard have disappeared. There's now a drive mode selector next to the new shift knob, which folds down into the console when not in use. Jaguar has also redesigned the climate controls, installing dials with autonomous temperature settings. The redesigned center console houses a new standard wireless charger, and Jaguar says the space offers increased storage space. The front seats are wider than before and have a larger heating and cooling area. Passenger and cargo space remain unchanged, maintaining the sedan's spacious rear seat and spacious trunk. The XF has a sporty look and features a refined front end design and drives on 19-inch wheels. At the same time, the rear lights look a little rustic, but the large air intakes give the car a more powerful yet sophisticated look.
The sliding panoramic roof allows for a greater view of the sky in good weather, while rain-sensing windshield wipers provide clearer frontal visibility on rainy or snowy days.
Infotainment and connectivity
Jaguar outfits every 2022 XF with an infotainment system called Pivi Pro, which operates through a prominent 11.4-inch curved glass touchscreen. Nevertheless, we have to admit that the system was a little slow to respond at times. In addition to over-the-air update support, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard, along with a 12-speaker Meridian stereo. A redesigned center console features soft curves along with the most significant interior upgrade yet, the JaguarPivi Pro infotainment system.
Some of the adjustments located on the steering wheel are a little tricky. SiriusXM, AppleCarPlay, AndroidAuto, and HD Radio are not always immediately displayed.
Safety features
Jaguar's midsize sedan offers a wide range of optional driver assistance technologies. Key security features include:
- Forward collision warning and automatic emergency braking are available.
- Available blind spot monitoring and rear cross traffic alert
- Lane departure warning and lane keeping assist available
There are also new functions - perimeter alarm, emergency SOS call and location of a stolen car.
