The new car has a new virtual instrument panel, which houses a 7-inch on-board computer screen. The front seats have acquired a ventilation option, and in both trim levels, the already well-known Premium has been supplemented with Thor. The diagonal of the main display has become larger, it is now possible to order Nappa leather seat trim, steering wheel paddle shifters have appeared, a set of safety systems, supplemented by adaptive cruise control, which can monitor blind spots and road signs. The car also has parking sensors and a rear camera, but the car does not have a circular camera. In addition, the Mazda CX-9 has acquired an adaptive LED lighting system, a projection display on the windshield, and all this is already included in the basic configuration. The updated Mazda Connect multimedia system is compatible with all modern smartphones, thanks to the installed Android Auto and Apple CarPlay applications. The new car has finally acquired inductive charging for smartphones. The convenience of the front row flows smoothly into the comfort of separate seats in the second row. Here, passengers have at their disposal a separate climate control system, USB ports, and a lot of free space to feel at ease. Despite the presence of the third row, the volume of the luggage compartment has not suffered and is 230 liters of useful volume, and if you transform the seats of the second and third rows, the figure can easily increase to 1850 liters.
The suspension settings are soft and very comfortable, thanks to which the car clearly maintains the given trajectory of movement and practically does not allow rolls when entering turns. In general, the movement of the car fully reflects its appearance - everything is reliable and solid.
To designate the so-called finishing touch, as the artists say, it is necessary to highlight the excellent sound insulation of the reviewed model. Most experts agree that in the flagship from Mazda, the team of its developers did not allow any miscalculations, and if any are identified during the operation of the car, the manufacturer promised to immediately eliminate them through official dealers.
The manufacturer offers only one four-cylinder in-line gasoline turbo engine of the Skyactiv-G line with a volume of 2.5 liters on 16 valves with direct fuel injection GDI factory series PY-VPS with a capacity of 231 horsepower. For reference, we note that this engine is equipped with a reliable proprietary DualS-VT phase regulation system.
The Japanese car can hold up to 74 liters of fuel and accelerate this all-wheel drive car by default to a maximum of 210 km/h. Impressive performance, isn't it? The transmission is provided by an automatic 7-speed gearbox, which is simply ideally combined with the Skyactiv-C 2.5 PY-VPS turbo engine.
