The developers, together with other specialists, decided not to take a radical path to change the design, but to preserve the appearance. Nevertheless, due to small but numerous changes, the body of the new product began to look as if it was created completely anew.

The main goal of all the work is the desire to create a car that should be as functional as possible and at the same time simple.

Appearance

Starting with this model, the developers will release the Si version exclusively in a sedan body - there are no other options. Previously, buyers were offered a coupe. The color palette includes 6 bright shades.

According to the company's engineers, they managed to create a truly "driver's" version of the Honda Civic in the entire history of the family. The outlines of the body are smooth with a minimum of strict lines.

However, this does not prevent the car from looking aggressive and sporty. All body elements are in harmony with each other.

The engine compartment is low, not quite in keeping with its width. The sloping frontal surface descends to the rounded, slightly raised in the center and tilted forward hood.

The entire radiator grille is divided by engineers into two sections. The upper narrow plate connects the headlights with each other and the company emblem flaunts in the center.

The lower wide one is integrated into the middle of the front bumper in the form of a trapezoid of a reserve air intake.

In the center there is a platform for the license plate, and a wide aerodynamic lip runs along the entire bottom.

Looking at the sports sedan, you can feel the scale of the body. All this looks interesting, chic and luxurious at the same time.

Due to the alloy wheels with a stylish design, the car visually becomes lighter and faster.

Interior and equipment

The developers approached the creation of the interior style in an original way.

Across the center of the front console along its entire width, there is a mesh strip surrounded by a chrome frame, where the ventilation ducts with handles for adjusting the air flow rate are hidden.

Below the panel "grille", there is the climate control unit, and the main organs are represented not by mechanical buttons, but by sensors.

In basic models, the instrument panel is represented by analog scales.

Inside the expensive modifications, there is a full-fledged digital instrument panel measuring 10.2 inches.

The central monitor also differs in dimensions - the base has a 7-inch screen; expensive versions are equipped with a 9-inch display. The multimedia is capable of supporting Apple CarPlay and Android Auto interfaces. Everything looks not only stylish, but also ergonomic.

The Japanese manufacturer prefers not to save on finishing materials, and therefore durable plastic, leather, fabric, metal and carbon inserts are used to emphasize the luxury of the interior. Due to the thoughtful arrangement of interior elements, it became possible to free up more space in both rows.

Specifications

The new model is based on the same platform as its predecessors, but engineers have slightly modified the "trolley" specifically for the 2022 Civic model. This has increased the body's resistance to twisting along the longitudinal axis by 8%

The front has a traditional layout - McPherson struts; and at the rear, engineers have installed a multi-link system.

The lineup of power units has remained the same:

• A two-liter naturally aspirated engine with a capacity of 160 hp, producing 187 Nm of torque.
• A turbocharged four-cylinder with a volume of 1.5 liters - 180 hp and 240 Nm.

The turbocharged four-cylinder has been improved by duplicating the system at the intake and exhaust. Instead of the old dual-mass flywheel, a single-mass replacement is placed.
