Audi A6 2019: an elegant premium sedan

Restyling has greatly refreshed the exterior, interior and engine compartment of the car, which is undergoing its fourth modernization.

Exterior

The face of the car turned out to be very large, but having smoothed, even pretty features. The new Audi A6 of the 2019 model year received a hood cover strongly inclined to the roadbed, decorated with a stepped relief that visually raises its central part. The radiator grille is made in the best Ingolstadt traditions: a huge hexagon, generously flavored with chrome, with its lower half coming on a stylish, saturated with air intakes and having a small wing from below, a body kit. LED optics have a complex shape and a cunning "European" squint.

The sides of the new model have changed less. All transitions are very smooth and perfectly combined with a fairly wide skirt at the bottom of the doors. The side glazing has become even more expressive thanks to the domed shape of the roof, however, it has retained a rather modest size that does not interfere with the view. Stylish door handles and mirrors are also slightly refreshed. However, the true decoration of the car's profile was the huge wheels with the original Audi design.

The rear of the new body has simply got luxurious marker lights with chrome molding passing through them. The rear window is very much tilted forward and looks very modern. Against this background, the trunk lid looks quite short, but a small spoiler gives this element a special charm. It is also worth noting a fairly compact bumper, with a protective insert, stop repeaters and two oval chrome-plated exhaust system muzzles.

Interior 

Not only engineers, but also designers have thoroughly worked on the interior of the Audi A6 2019. As a result, the interior decoration turned out to be very rich, made only of high-quality leather, plastic with inserts of expensive wood and metals. In addition, car buyers will be able to count on the presence of many elements and systems in the interior that can make any trip comfortable, interesting and safe.

Driving a car

The center console can be decorated in a one-color or two-color style. In the upper part of it there are large rectangular deflectors, directly under which there are two large displays for controlling the main functions of the car. The screens have a small angle of inclination relative to each other for ease of operation. There are very few physical keys, they serve mainly for working with the climate and some other auxiliary systems. The central tunnel is very wide, decorated with noble materials and has a bright, unlike the others, short selector for working with the "automatic" gearbox.

Around it, there are several keys and compartments for small things and working with mobile devices. The armrest is low, but very wide, a refrigerator can be hidden under it. The three-spoke steering wheel has changed quite a bit: the same wide, pleasant-to-touch rim, the same abundance of keys on horizontally arranged spokes, the same wonderful finishing materials. Immediately behind the steering wheel, there is a state-of-the-art digital 12-inch instrument panel, which displays all the most important parameters of the car's operation.

Accommodation of passengers and cargo

The car received chic seats-trimmed with leather, with a soft filler and comfortable side support. There is heating, ventilation and a lot of electrical adjustments. The sofa in the back row turned out to be no less comfortable, and the manufacturers claim that there is more space for passengers there – not only in the legs, but also above the head.

But the volume of the trunk has remained unchanged and is 530 liters – not much, but enough for a trip to the hypermarket for the eyes!

Technical characteristics

The new Audi A6 2019 has received a very wide range of engines that can satisfy customers of different ages and requests.

In the "charged" versions, the "six" will receive a 3.0-liter gasoline engine equipped with a turbine with a capacity of 340 hp and a turbodiesel of the same volume, showing a power of 286 "horses". These units will work with a 7-speed "robot" and "automatic" 8-speed gearbox, respectively.

Much has also been done to reduce fuel consumption. The value of these characteristics today ranges from 6.7-9 liters for gasoline engines and 5.5-6.5 liters per hundred for diesel. This was achieved through the introduction of "soft hybrid" and "Start/Stop" systems, which silences the engine at low speeds.
