Chrysler Pacifica 2018: A high-level family car

The first show of the updated version of this family minivan was held at an exhibition in Detroit, which took place in the spring of 2016. Chrysler Pacifica 2018 had to replace another car in the model range, which was already significantly outdated — Chrysler Town and Country. The new model is much better equipped both technically and functionally, and also receives a more attractive design.

Appearance

The new body, although it has large dimensions, looks light and bright. Here you can find features inherent in both a family car and a sports car.

The front part of the car is very short. The hood was made absolutely flat, but at a great angle. The radiator grille, which is located directly under it, took the form of a trapezoid with a rounded bottom. Inside it is all made of fine mesh. This air intake perfectly harmonizes with the optics and together they practically form a single whole. The lights here, by the way, are fully LED ones.

In the lower part of the bumper, another air intake system stands out vividly. It is also trapezoidal here. A pair of fog lights is located to the side of it. All this is finished around the perimeter with chrome paint. The side of the car is interestingly decorated. The glass line smoothly changes direction along its entire length. In the front part, the area of the glasses is much larger than in the back. From the relief here, it is worth noting the skirt, a small depression in the center of the body and slightly swollen arches. If you look at the car from behind, you might think that this is just a restyling of the old Town and Country, since they have a lot in common. This part of the car is located strictly at right angles to the ground. Half of the space is reserved for glass, which ends with oval optics. At the bottom you can find a small ledge that facilitates access to the trunk. Additional stop lights are built into it, and an exhaust pipe is located under it.

Interior

Chrysler Pacifica 2018 minivan looks just amazing inside. Although not premium, but rather high-quality materials are used here, such as fabric, plastic and leather. On the center console of the car, you can find everything you need. The main functionality is in the multimedia screen, which is placed in the very center. A little below it, there is everything what should be on the tunnel – a washer for changing driving modes and several holes for things. On the side of this, there are additional functional buttons. Instead of a tunnel, they decided to install a refrigerator with cup holders here. A lot of things are placed on the steering wheel. It controls the audio system, the phone, activates assistants and regulates some elements of the cabin. The instrument panel is a screen on which there are indicators of speed, RPM and an on-board computer displaying all other information. The seats are of very high quality. They can be upholstered in both fabric and leather. Each of them received the possibility of adjustment, heating and ventilation. There is also lateral support. At the back there are two more rows, for three and two seats, and each of them has the same functionality as the front one.

Technical characteristics

The new Chrysler Pacifica 2018 model year will receive the main power plant with a volume of 3.6 liters, in which 279 horsepower will be collected. A nine-speed robotic gearbox will help him. Such characteristics provide a good acceleration – 7.5 seconds to a hundred, and a small consumption – only 11 liters, which is confirmed by a test drive.

In the future, it is planned to release a hybrid version, which will be able to travel up to 50 kilometers on electricity alone. It will be possible to fully charge it in just a couple of hours.
