Ford Edge 2020: a bright and stylish crossover

Ford continues to expand its range of interesting cars. Not so long ago, restyling went to one of the company's brightest crossovers - Edge. The new model has changed a lot in all respects. Ford Edge 2020 is more aggressive and stylish on the outside, more comfortable and safe inside, and better equipped technically. Exterior

We can safely say that the design is one of the main advantages of the crossover. As you can see in the photo, the new body is quite different from its predecessor. The car will receive even more decorative elements that have come here from the older brothers of the car, as well as several completely new solutions that make the look of the crossover much more interesting.

The front part looks the most striking here. It is characterized by a short length and medium fit, so that the visibility of the driver here will never be bad, regardless of his/her height. Also, this is facilitated by the slight slope of the muzzle. As for jewelry, there are also enough of them. It all starts with a compact bonnet, which is distinguished by a large recess in the center and seriously protruding side ribs. Under the lid, you can already see the company's branded air intake. It takes quite large, by the standards of a crossover, dimensions and has a polygonal shape. Since it is slightly recessed into the body, it has no perimeter, and inside you can see a medium-sized mesh, completely painted in black gloss. In the very center of the air intake, there is a large Ford badge. Next to the grille, there are very aggressive headlights, which have xenon filling, offered in any configuration.

Next, the body kit begins, which takes up a decent amount of space on the bumper. It is equipped with three more cutouts through which air enters various parts of the engine compartment. The most important cutout is in the center and takes the form of a trapezoid. Two more can be found on the sides. They already got a triangular shape, and they will be filled with plastic inserts and fog signals of small sizes. The design of the bumper ends with a small plastic insert to protect the body.

The car also looks good on the sides. A lot of space here will be allotted for windows, which also have a rather interesting shape. They will also be decorated with dividing posts and a perimeter, which is made in the form of thin strips painted in black gloss. The rest of the profile will be decorated with a stepped relief and a small number of smooth transitions in height. The second is especially noticeable from below, as there are inflated wheel arches.

The car looks good from behind. Approximately half of the entire area here is located at an angle. From the decor, this part will contain a long visor filled with stop signals, as well as a large window. Further, the door will almost no longer have an inclination. Here it will be filled with a decorative insert, painted in gloss black, which connects interesting overall signals, relief and other decorations. The body kit looks solid here. On the sides, it is decorated with recesses with anti-fog optics, and in the center of it there is a large diffuser made in black gloss and two large air intake cutouts.

Interior

The new Ford Edge 2020 model year also has a decent interior trimmed in the company's corporate style. It is finished with leather, fabrics and plastic, and advanced multimedia and excellent seats are responsible for the comfort and safety of passengers.

Not much space is reserved here for the center console. It consists of a monitor located in a recess, a pair of deflectors placed on the sides of the display, and a large climate control panel. Next comes a recess for storing hand luggage, which is covered with a curtain and connects the dashboard with the tunnel. The tunnel itself boasts a technical panel, organizers and an armrest.

The car has five seats, trimmed with leather or fabrics. They will also get mechanical or electrical adjustments, heating, lateral support and headrests.

Specifications

Ford Edge 2020 has got a chic engine range. Under the hood of the crossover, the following engines are located: a two-liter engine for 253 forces, a three-liter engine for 284 horses and a 2.7-liter engine that generates a return of 319 forces. Each of them runs on gasoline and is equipped with an eight-speed automatic transmission that distributes all efforts on both axles of the car.
