Honda Civic 2018: an updated standard of Japanese sports style

Among the most anticipated automotive novelties of the recent past is the Honda Civic 2018. The sports version of the car caused a particular delight among the public. Like the previous five generations, this modification will be made exclusively in the hatchback format. According to a number of experts, Japanese engineers slightly hesitated with the introduction of the updated car, however, judging by the result, the expectations were not in vain.

Exterior

The presentation of the car caused a stir among motorists and representatives of the press, because the company from the Land of the Rising Sun offered a practically new body in which the best technologies of the future have harmoniously combined. Experts say that these futuristic features have practically deprived the car of the traditional “Honda” style: if you remove the label from the grille, you can easily take the car for a “European”.

The visual center of the front part of the car is a bumper. Almost all of it is an air intake, from which some other elements only slightly protrude, as well as cleverly “narrowed” optics.

The false radiator grille is rather narrow; it is as if being divided into two equal parts by a metal strip, on which the icon of the manufacturing company shows off.

Bottom of the front part is completely given to diffusers. Those on the sides are gigantic trapeziums in which nice fog lights are embedded.

The sides of the car are distinguished by the line of windows - in the spirit of oriental cars; they are made not straight, but gently bending upwards in the rear part of the body. The wheel arches are made protruding - such as to accommodate a futuristic looking 20-inch wheels.

The back part of the new model has also significantly changed. The trunk lid is crowned with a volume spoiler, similar to those put on such recognized Japanese "athletes" as the Lancer or Impreza. Slightly narrow lights are located below, strongly setting on the side of the wings.

The lower part of the stern is simply amazing. Built-in exhaust pipe, several trapezoidal air intakes, stepped bumper - all this makes a sporty and at the same time aggressive impression.

Interior

The interior of the 2018 Honda Civic model has also undergone major changes. The interior is no less sporty than the body. Finishing materials are extremely lightweight and at the same time quality. Carbon, fabric, aluminum, wood - these are the main features of the model.

The multimedia display has become much larger and now serves as a multifunctional control center on the front console. In addition, you can use the buttons, as well as levers for work, for example, with driving modes or climate control. Nearby is the gear lever, which has become closer, which means it is more convenient for the driver.

Air ducts are scattered throughout the cabin that not only provides the passengers with fresh air, but also conveys a pleasant growl of the engine under the hood.

The instrument panel also has an unusual appearance. One part of it is located at the usual place and is equipped with a tachometer, speedometer, as well as a device showing the state of the turbine operation. The second half is slightly higher, and there is a large electronic computer board, which can display about 20 parameters of the current state of the car.

Seats and trunk

Fabric black and red armchairs are very comfortable. They can be adjusted in several positions and can memorize the settings. The back row is also very comfortable, but only two can sit on it. However, it is still not bad for a sports car, because on some models, seats behind the driver are not provided at all.

The luggage compartment can fit about 500 liters of luggage.

Specifications

The car has a slightly upgraded gasoline engine with a 2-liter turbocharged engine. This unit will have outstanding characteristics: 350 "horses", 5 seconds to set the first "hundred" and the ability to "squeeze" about 280 kilometers per hour. At the same time, the engine's appetites are very modest: 8.5-9 liters of fuel per 100 kilometers.

The car has a front-wheel drive with only manual gearbox with 6 speeds. However, there are rumors about the possibility of the emergence of a 6-step “robot” in the future.

Suspension, steering, and brakes - everything has undergone a slight change. And now, according to the experts who have already tested the cars for a test drive, all the technical “stuffing” of the car is capable of perfect handling the increased loads better than sports cars.
