The Americans have revived the Hummer brand with a very powerful electric pickup truck!

Do you remember the sensational Tesla Cybertruck pickup truck? Now it has a competitor, and, unlike Tesla, it is ready for mass production. And it's not just the angular and brutal design that is typical of all Hummers. The new Hummer is an electric pickup truck!

It will not be produced under a separate brand, but as a GMC model. It is based on a modular platform, which hints at further development of the family, and an SUV based on the same base has already been announced. The design of the five-seat cabin is similar to the exterior — everything is deliberately rough and angular. In front of the driver, there is a display instead of a dashboard, and in the center, there is another 13-inch screen. Interestingly, the GMC Hummer can be turned into a cabriolet by removing the roof panels. Moreover, you can lower the rear window of the cab, and the tailgate has six positions. The list of options includes autopilot.

Three electric motors with a total capacity of 1014 HP are hidden under the body! The torque is 15,590 Nm, but it is indicated on the wheels, that is, it is already multiplied by the transmission. Acceleration to 97 km/h is in 3 seconds only! And the new Ultium battery provides a huge Hummer with a power reserve of up to 560 km. The battery is well protected - the Hummer can force the water obstacles over 600 mm deep.

Of course, the Hummer remained a real off-road fighter. The air suspension with adaptive shock absorbers can change the ground clearance in the range of 15 cm, and the full-control chassis has a CrabWalk mode, when all 4 wheels turn in one direction, and the Hummer, like a crab, can crawl diagonally.

The front bumper allows you to force the obstacles up to 460 mm high, and by default the Hummer is equipped with Goodyear Wrangler Territory MT off-road tires with an external diameter of 35 or 37 inches.

To facilitate movement on difficult sections, a bunch of video cameras are installed — there are 18 of them! And two of them are located under the bottom. Given their purpose, the lenses are equipped with washers. However, all of the above is the prerogative of the top version of GMC Hummer EV Edition One, which will be released on the American market in the fall of 2021 at a price of 113 thousand dollars.

Another feature of the electric Hummer is its powerful (350 kW!) charger that supports a voltage of up to 800 V. The 100-mile (160 km) milestone can be charged in just 10 minutes. But such charging will only be available for the most expensive modification.

And there are four planned! Next after Edition One, the Hummer EV^3X will be released in the fall of 2022 with three electric motors producing 811 HP and 12880 Nm (on wheels). The range will be 480 km. And then, in the spring of 2023 — two-engine Hummer EV^2X with a total power unit capacity of 634 HP and 10033 Nm. They will cost 100 and 90 thousand dollars, respectively.

The basic Hummer EV² pickup truck will debut only in the spring of 2024 and is estimated at 80 thousand dollars. Interestingly, it has the same two electric motors with a capacity of 634 HP, but the battery is simpler — the power reserve is declared up to 400 km. In addition, it will have 400-volt charging; the rotary chassis and air suspension are not in the list of options.
