Mini is one of the stars of the IAA Mobility Show in Munich. The thing is that the manufacturer has prepared not only the new Cooper, but also the Countryman for presentation at the event. The largest and most spacious Mini car has increased in size, received an evolutionary design and a minimalist interior. The third generation will be available in an electric version with one or two electric motors, as well as in gasoline and diesel versions.

The new 2025 Mini Countryman crossover is priced at $38,900 in the US, and the entry-level model offers significantly more power than before.

The entry-level version of the new Countryman that will be sold in the US is the S ALL4. It will be sold alongside the all-electric Countryman and the John Cooper Works version. The previous generation Countryman started at $32,650.

The 2025 Countryman is one of the leading representatives of the premium compact crossover segment with a length of 4429 mm. It is 13 cm longer than its predecessor and 6 cm taller. The car's track has also widened slightly. Despite the increased dimensions, the model's body has become more aerodynamic: the drag coefficient is 0.26 cd for electric versions, while for the previous generation this figure is 0.31 cd.

The new Countryman is one of the first production models to feature Mini's new design language called 'Charismatic Simplicity'. This language contains all the basic styling elements of previous generations, with fewer curves and more sharp body lines. The front features a larger octagonal grille, with most of it painted in body color. The smaller LED headlights have lost their convex shape and moved slightly higher compared to its predecessor. The range of wheels includes wheels ranging in size from 17 to 20 inches. Other notable details include the extended rear overhang, flush door handles and boxy fenders with thinner plastic trim around the wheel arches. The slim Matrix LED taillights still feature the signature Mini Union Jack graphic, while the rear spoiler is now more prominent. Chrome accents are completely absent from the exterior.

The manufacturer offers four trim levels: the basic Essential, the mid-range Classic, the more refined Favored and the sportier John Cooper Works. Each variety has a unique style, while the design is kept in a minimalist style. Compared to previous Mini models, there are fewer buttons and more woven textile surfaces inside. Taking center stage is a new 9.4-inch circular OLED display with thin bezels, which doubles as an infotainment touchscreen and digital instrument cluster. It runs on Android 9 operating system, includes AI-powered virtual assistant Spike, and is customizable with 8 available operating modes that also sync with sophisticated ambient lighting.

There is no separate screen behind the wheel, but a head-up display is available as an option. On the center console there is a toggle switch with 5 switches designed to control functions such as parking brake, gear shift, start/stop, driving mode, volume. Climate control controls are integrated into the touchscreen.

Door cards, floors and carpets are made from recycled polyester, and the unusual two-tone design is the result of a specially developed knitting process. Another interesting detail is the optional textile strap, which acts as the third spoke of the multifunction steering wheel.

The new Countryman S ALL4 is powered by a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine producing 241 hp. and a torque of 400 Nm, which drives all four wheels. By comparison, the previous entry-level Countryman Cooper had a turbocharged 1.5-liter three-cylinder engine that produced 134 hp. and front- or all-wheel drive (all-wheel drive is optional for $1,500).

For those who want a more powerful combustion-powered Countryman, there's the 2025 John Cooper Works version. It also uses a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine, but uprated to 312 hp. This version starts at $46,900, making it $3,100 more expensive than the previous generation John Cooper Works model.
