Last year, Americans bought 10,542 copies of the Cadillac CT6 and a total of 4,094 Japanese Lexus LS sedans, the German BMW 7 Series sedans and the Mercedes-Benz S-Class finished last year, respectively, with results of 9276 and 15888 cars. So the main competitor for the CT6 is the S-Class from Mercedes-Benz, but ... as a “gift” to the German competitor, the American company prepared the “charged” Cadillac CT6 V-Sport with a very serious technical stuffing that should be emphasized.

Under the hood, a new version of the American sedan is equipped with a unique V8 4.2 Twin Turbo gasoline engine (557 hp 850 Nm), transmitting all-wheel drive (four-wheel drive) through a 10-speed automatic transmission Hydra-Matic 10L90. The engine is assembled by hand in the Performance Build Center (Bowling Green, Kentucky) in close proximity to the conveyor from which the Chevrolet Corvette sports car comes.
The main technical features of the unique eight-cylinder turbo engine, created, by the way, from a clean sheet, are a cylinder block with a collapse of 90 degrees, made of aluminum, four camshafts, 32 valves, a crankshaft and connecting rods forged from steel, a high compression ratio of the engine 9,8: 1, twin-scroll turbochargers, electronically controlled bypass valves, a pair of water intercoolers, and dual throttle bodies. The engine is equipped with a direct fuel injection system, independent variable valve timing during intake and exhaust, a cylinder deactivation system at low loads and a start / stop system, an oil pump with variable performance, oil nozzles in the cylinder block, providing additional lubrication and cooling of the pistons from the bottom. Turbines provide a pressure of 1.38 bar, while 90% of the maximum torque is available in a wide range of crankshaft rotation from 2000 to 5200 rpm.
Of course, not only the unique engine in the arsenal of the new Cadillac CT6 V-Sport. There are four-wheel drive, fully-controlled chassis, rear mechanical limited slip differential, upgraded steering, Magnetic Ride Control adaptive suspension with electronically controlled shock absorbers, exhaust system, supplemented by active valves, the original program that provides the stabilization system and distributes the axle thrust, Brembo brakes with 19-inch one-piece brake discs and 4 piston calipers, 20-inch light-alloy wheels and special tires made by person Flax for the "charged" version of the CT6 sedan.
With the introduction of the gasoline turbo "eight" in the motor line of Cadillac models, it is possible that one or even several engines installed on the pre-reform Cadillac CT6 will retire. It is not known how exactly the engine will be donated by the American company, and there are only three of them: a four-cylinder 2.0 Turbo (265 hp) and two six-cylinder, an atmospheric 3.6-liter (335 hp) and 3.0 Twin Turbo (404 hp).
