New Infiniti Q50 2017
The updated sports sedan Infiniti Q50 2017 is among the most notable new products of the Geneva Motor Show, held in March 2017. The premium Infiniti model has experienced the second restyling for a relatively short time period. The previous update took place at the end of 2015 and was remembered, first of all, by technical innovations, among which the most important was the inclusion in the motor range of the new V6 3.0 twin-turbo engine with a return of 405 hp.
The main result of the restyling in 2017 is the introduction of ProPILOT semi-autonomous control system, which minimizes the risk of accidents. In addition to the autopilot, the new Infiniti Q 50 2017 received a number of local improvements in the exterior design, decoration, and equipment.
It is worth stating that the sports sedan Q50 from the moment of its debut (2013) remains the most popular brand model, guaranteeing up to a third of all sales of the company. So, in 2016, around 230,000 copies of the car were sold in the world, and this is the record figure. It is not surprising that the Q50 was the first to be endowed with the ProPILOT systems - one of the most advanced modern autopilot versions.
What's new in the appearance?
Despite the planned nature of the modernization, there are not so many new elements on the body of the Infiniti Q50. At the same time, there is a differentiation of the external design depending on the modification. For example, the classic four-door version has a more relaxed exterior, while the sports versions (Sport and Red Sport 400) are full of dynamics and aggression. There is a special configuration of the aerodynamic panel with the developed sections of air intakes, decent aerodynamic body kit, the black color of the front splitter, rear diffuser, and side mirror housings.
The front optics of the Infiniti sedan in any of the versions is equipped with LED elements. Behind the bright three-dimensional LED-lights borrowed from the coupe Q60 are set. The sporty and energetic appearance is also achieved by the huge round nozzles of the exhaust pipe set on the edges of the diffuser, and the original 19-inch wheels with lots of thin spokes.
Changes in the interior of Q50
Innovations in the interior of the Infiniti Q50 can be counted on the fingers of one hand. First of all, the appearance of a new steering wheel with a different design and a revised arrangement of the steering column switches should be noted. Another new feature is the front panel trimming with better-quality leather with double seams. The differentiating features of Red Sport 400 version are the ubiquitous red stitching, a diamond-shaped stitch on the side of the seats, aluminum inserts and trimmed door cards in matt black chrome.
The rest of the restyled four-door salon is completely identical to the interior of its predecessor. This means that in front of the driver there is a classic dashboard with two dials and a large color screen onboard computer, and on the center console, in close cooperation, there are two touch screens of Infiniti's InTouch Services multimedia system, one of which has a size of 8 inches and the other - of 7 inches. . The package also includes premium Bose Performance Series acoustics with 16 speakers that generate surround sound.
