The car market is almost weekly updated with new models. And all of them should impress potential buyers with their functionality and technical characteristics. However, sometimes there are so many additional options that it is impossible to deal with them immediately. Therefore, it often happens that there is an almost invisible button in the car interior, the purpose of which is unknown even to the owner. But they can hide a really important function.

Nissan Note

Here you can find one very unusual button with a not very clear icon. But in fact, this button is responsible for enabling the all-round view system with the detection of moving objects. The option also has an official name - Around View Monitor.

Toyota Tacoma 2016

Here the designers placed one button that is not the most noticeable, but has a very relevant practical function now. It starts and blocks the mobile phone's wireless charging panel. The niche with the port is located below the button itself: that is, just put the phone there, press the button and charging will start.

Toyota RAV4

A small button, which is located near the automatic transmission selector in the interior of the Toyota RAV4 crossover, interestingly, does not have any designation at all, but its functionality can be understood even by its location. It triggers the selector lock, which allows you to switch the engine to the neutral position when the engine is switched off. This function will serve you well if the transmission is broken or you need to drive the car to a tow truck.

Interesting fact: there is a strange practice with such buttons - they are used irregularly, and, apparently, this is why manufacturers hide them behind special plugs.

Toyota Tacoma 2020

Another model from the famous auto giant - Toyota Tacoma 2020 - also has interesting buttons. For example, you can find a pictogram in the form of a pickup truck moving on a bumpy road, as well as the inscription MTS. This abbreviation stands for Multi-Terrain Select. This button starts the off-road driving assistance system: in other words, it allows you to choose the mode of driving on different types of roads: sand, rocks, snow, etc.

On the opposite side, that is, to the right of the mode selection puck, there is another button that is not often used, called Crawl. It is responsible for launching the so-called "sneaking mode", which allows you to take your foot off the gas pedal and drive dangerous sections of road at minimum speed.

Subaru

Perhaps every owner of Subaru car models knows about the existence of such an unusual button as PTY/CAT. These letters can be confusing, but in fact they hide a non-trivial, but very convenient function - the ability to assign a specific category to a radio station.

This happens in this way: the driver can assign the radio stations that most often play music of their favorite genres (this can be rock, pop, or classical music. And then when you click this button, the radio will switch to those radio stations that have been assigned a certain category.

BMW

You can find buttons about the functionality of which little is known even in the legendary BMW. One of them can be found on the end of the steering wheel switch, it is marked with the number BC. Such an insignificant abbreviation hides the function of controlling the modes of the on-board computer. In addition, it can be used to adjust the switching algorithm - it can be sequential, as well as to program the driver in a convenient order.

Toyota

A button with a very original name Party Mode can be found in several models of the Toyota brand. It hides the option adjusting the sound mode of the audio system: so, it translates all the sound to the rear speakers and increases the bass. When you turn on this button, you can output music outside the car through the trunk - just open it and the party will start.

Porsche Cayman

The famous Porsche Cayman model has a lot of buttons on the center console, and their functionality is different. However, the option of one of them is not as familiar as the others. We are talking about a button that shows two exhaust pipes. It turned out that it starts the so-called "racing" mode of the exhaust system. If you press this button, special flaps open, which in the closed position reduce the volume of the exhaust sound.

SAAB

The Swedish automobile company SAAB no longer exists, but in their models you could find one very interesting button, which is still called a vivid example of the thoughtfulness of the carmaker's engineers and care for potential owners. We are talking about the one that is on the front panel with the inscription EXTRA. Surprisingly, it does not have the exact functionality, but at the same time it is able to perform any option: it turns out that this button is a backup, and its function is determined by the owner himself, based on his own preferences and needs.
