This allowed for an 85 mm increase in the free space in the area of the rear passengers ' knees.

The interior of the model has noticeably changed. The front panel with a two-story architecture is made in the style of older models, the interior has a new steering wheel and instrument panel, and the quality of finishing materials has significantly improved.

The basic engine for the sedan remains the same - 2.4-liter petrol V6 with a capacity of 204 HP, and the alternative is a 250-horsepower 3.5-liter "six". Both engines are aggregated in a pair with an 8-band automatic gearbox. Moreover, there are cars in the line not only with rear, but also with all-wheel drive.

IS also got a hybrid modification of the 300h, which includes a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine running on the Atkinson cycle, an electric motor, a set of batteries and a CVT. The total output of such an installation is 220 "horses", and the average fuel consumption in a mixed cycle is only 4.3 liters per 100 km.

In the fall of 2015, the European market started accepting orders for the IS 200t with a two-liter turbo engine from the Lexus NX crossover. At the same time, for the sedan, it was boosted by 238 to 245 HP and 350 Nm. This version accelerates from a place to a hundred in 7.0 seconds, and the maximum speed is limited to 230 km/h. The average consumption is stated at 7.0 l / 100 km.

Another good news was the appearance of the F Sport package, which includes a reconfigured suspension (adaptive is available as an option), an electronic instrument panel from the LFA supercar, as well as an aerodynamic body kit with more aggressive bumpers, a different grille, two exhaust pipes and exclusive disks.

Restyling

the premiere of the updated Lexus IS sedan, which received a slightly tweaked appearance and an upgraded interior, took place at the Beijing motor show 2016. The European debut took place at the motor show in Paris in September.

The main differences of the new model are concentrated in the front part, which has a new radiator grille, modified head optics and a redesigned bumper with enlarged air intakes.
