Speaking of the Subaru Company, the Impreza model willy-nilly first comes to mind of the Japanese brand fans. It is thought to be an aggressive, uncompromising and powerful car, able to outdo many supercars. 

The history of the model began in 1992 when the car came to replace the no less popular model Leone (Loyale). The name "Impreza" is borrowed from the Italian language, where "impresa" means "a thirst for success", and the car is fully consistent with its name. The model has often won the prestigious world rally championship, where it has earned the status of not only a fast but also a very reliable car. From 1992 to 2015, 4 generations of Subaru Impreza were produced. The fifth generation debuted in the spring of 2016.

It is worth mentioning that the novelty fully corresponds to the concept of the Japanese brand and has many similar elements with the previously presented concept versions of the Impreza Sedan Concept and 5-Door, which demonstrated a new round of development of the automaker.

The exterior of the Subaru Impreza certainly does not pretend to be a "design revolution", while we should give credit to the Japanese designers who have made the car more restrained and solid. The "face" of the updated Impreza is crowned with a proprietary hexagonal radiator grille, a new bumper with integrated slots of air intakes and corner fog lamps.

The hood of the car is almost smooth, with small raised protrusions. The profile of the car has the wedge shape of the body with a compact stern, dome-shaped roof and round wheel arches of the "correct" shape.

It is impossible not to pay attention to the large front and rear doors, making the landing and disembarkation more convenient. The stern of the sedan and hatchback is somewhat different, but it has stylish with complex shape of the headlamps massive bumper, the bottom part of which covers the insert of black plastic. A mandatory attribute of Impreza in the modification of "Sport" is a small spoiler located on the luggage compartment lid.

Engineers and designers of the Subaru Company paid much attention to the interior of the novelty, which was substantially redesigned. A cursory glance is enough to note that the interior has become not only more stylish and solid but also of high quality.

The central console has acquired a completely different architecture, led by a large display of a multimedia system. The car received a different instrument panel, supplemented by a color screen of the onboard computer, as well as a new multifunctional steering wheel, through which it is possible to control almost all the systems present in the car. Representatives of the Japanese brand emphasize that when creating the interior, they used more high-quality and expensive materials than, unfortunately, the previous versions had.

The car got new front seats with a well-felt lateral support. The attention was also paid to the rear passengers of the row, where significantly appeared more space above their heads and before their knees.

Specifications of the new Subaru Impreza 2017

In the new generation of Impreza, the developer used the updated chassis, which significantly improved the passive safety of the model. The new architecture allowed increasing the rigidity of the body by 70%, and also reducing the car's list when turning by 50%, which became possible with the help of the new anti-roll bars installation.

Regardless of the version of the body (sedan or hatchback), the car is offered with a single 2-liter flat "atmospheric" engine, the power of which increased to 152 hp. (the power of the predecessor was 148 hp). The car is equipped with a modern 7-level variator that provides a sure acceleration both in the city and outside it.

The main trick of the car is a unique system of Symmetrical AWD, still responsible for the distribution of traction between the front and rear axles.

In the design of the chassis the developers decided not to hedge: ahead is McPherson, and behind - a multi-link suspension, well-proven in previous generations of the model. The Impreza of “Sports” modification differs in its suspension settings and in the presence of an innovative ATV system, the task of which is to help the driver more confidently pass the turns at high speeds.

Official representatives of the Japanese brand note that the fifth generation of the Impreza is famous for its ideal handling. Moreover, the car became noticeably more economical - fuel consumption in the mixed cycle is about 3.5 gallons per 100 miles.
