Over the past decade, Tesla has evolved from an ambitious upstart to the world leader in electric cars. Its Model S sedan has become a reference point for competitors.

Nowadays, as expected from Ilona Mask, Tesla is one of the most advanced automotive factories in the world.

The mission of Tesla is to accelerate the transition to sustainable energy.

Tesla Company was founded in 2003 by a group of engineers who wanted to prove that the electric vehicles can be better and quicker than gasoline cars. Nowadays, Tesla creates not only electric cars but also clean energy generation and storage products. Tesla representatives believe that the world should stop relying on fossil fuels and move to a zero-emission future.

Our visit to TESLA in California

Our company attended TESLA in California this month. That is why we want to share our feelings and observations with you.

All Tesla vehicles are produced at its factory in California, where the most of the car components are also made. Tesla factory is considered to be one of the safest productions in the world. For this, the company is taking a proactive approach to safety, which requires employees to participate in a multi-day training program before they enter the factory. Moreover, Tesla provides on-site training and track performance daily to make the improvements quickly.

As it has been mentioned above, Tesla also produces a unique set of energy solutions, Powerwall, Powerpack and Solar Roof, etc. By starting cell production, Tesla manufactures batteries at the volumes required to meet production goals, creating thousands of jobs by this.

The first 20 years of its existence, this factory was an assembly unit of General Motors, until it was closed in 1982. In 1984, the factory re-opened as NUMMI, or New United Motor Manufacturing Inc.

NUMMI was a joint venture of General Motors and Toyota, which collected the cars of both automakers. This allowed GM to explore Toyota’s legendary lean manufacturing methods.

NUMMI joint venture ceased to exist in 2009, which allowed Tesla to buy the factory in 2010.

Nowadays, the area of industrial premises of the factory is about half a million square meters.

Near the entrance to the shop exhibited a number of Tesla prototypes.

When entering the production workshops of the factory, all visitors have the impression of extraordinary purity and accuracy.

Tesla factory consists of two main production lines. Currently, one line is allocated to the Model S, and the second is responsible for the Model X.

Tesla production line is equipped with more than 150 robots.

Nevertheless, robots here are not all that is necessary. The factory also employs several thousand people.

Many parts of the car, such as interior trim, can only be installed manually only.

And this is just the beginning. Tesla continues to make products more and more accessible and affordable, ultimately accelerating the advent of clean transport and clean energy production.
