Updated Audi A3 received Allstreet cross-version

In March 2024, Audi updated the A3 family: the sedan and hatchback were given a tweaked exterior, the interior was improved, and new options were added. In addition, a new Allstreet cross-version appeared, which will occupy an intermediate position between the A3 hatchback and the Q3 crossover. Finally, all comfort options are now available only by subscription.

The fifth generation of the Audi A3 is expected no earlier than 2027 and will most likely be fully electric. Therefore, after the restyling, the family will have a rather long and, we hope, successful life - it is possible that the fourth and fifth generations will be produced in parallel for some time.

Appearance

The appearance of the updated sedans and hatchbacks has been improved, adding aggression. The radiator grille has lost its outer frame and acquired larger cells, the front bumper has become more angular with accentuated air intakes. A larger imitation of the diffuser has appeared at the back. By the way, each body now has its own bumper design. This entire sporty entourage is further enhanced when ordering the S line package. The shape of the headlights and taillights is the same, but the LED filling is new: 24 upper LED daytime running lights in each headlight allow you to customize the design of the light pattern through the MMI multimedia menu - 4 options are available.

The new Allstreet cross-version has a different radiator grille with an original filling - it has been slightly shifted upwards, closer to the hood, which, according to the idea, should emphasize the increased ground clearance: the modified suspension in combination with 17-inch wheels made it possible to add an additional 30 mm to the standard clearance of 140 mm. In addition, the cross-hatchback received a protective plastic body kit along the lower perimeter of the black body, silver inserts imitating metal, and roof rails. However, the Audi A3 Allstreet is not supposed to have quattro all-wheel drive, at least for now.

Interior and equipment

In the interior, the center console and the S tronic transmission selector have slightly changed. Already in the "base" there is a new acoustics brand Sonos, the low-frequency speakers are now located lower and give richer bass. In the door cards, behind the laser-perforated fabric inserts, atmospheric LED lighting was placed. The central armrest box between the front seats has become more comfortable. The rear passengers received two of their own USB-C charging ports. In addition, new finishing materials were added.

The 10.1-inch multimedia screen has an updated MMI operating system with a built-in store of popular third-party applications and a subscription tool for comfort options. That is, identical, fully packed cars roll off the assembly line, but access to all the equipment is only available through a subscription. So, in the "base" the new Audi A3 will receive only air conditioning, and the dual-zone climate control mode is activated through a subscription. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, adaptive cruise control and automatic headlight switch from high to low beam are available by subscription.

Engines and versions

At the start of sales, the updated 2024 Audi A3 is offered in two versions: with a gasoline 1.5-liter TFSI engine (150 hp) paired with a 48-volt starter-generator ("mild" hybrid) and with a 2-liter turbodiesel (150 hp) with urea injection and bulky treatment facilities. The gearbox is only a 7-speed "automatic" DCT (with two clutches), the drive is only front. Later, entry-level versions with manual transmission, all-wheel drive versions, plug-in hybrids and the sporty S3 are expected.
