Youth and urban BMW X2 2020

BMW X2 is a new urban crossover of the Bavarian company, which was shown to the public back in 2016 at the Paris motor show. The main audience targeted by the manufacturer is young people living in the city. The Bavarians took up production only when they saw good sales of the Mercedes-Benz GLA-Class. The manufacturer decided to compete with it, squeezing out part of the market and earn money accordingly.

Design with a view to the future

This crossover was the first to receive elements that will be installed on new generations of other series in the future, most likely X1, X3, etc. The car looks beautiful, with a slight hint of aggression, and this is just what the target audience of the car needs. 

The muzzle of the car received branded optics with led equipment. Above the optics, the line slightly climbs on the BMW x2 headlight, thereby narrowing the "view" of the car. In the center of the front part, there is a branded radiator grille with chrome trim. The muscular bumper has got a round fog optics like in the BMW X5 F15, illuminating pedestrians at night. The bumper has 3-section air intakes that not only cool the brakes and engine, but also improve aerodynamic drag.

On the side, the model pleases with the shape of the coupe style. It is from here that you can see that it can hardly be called the SUV - the car is more like a large hatchback. The muscular wheel arches are accentuated by grey plastic linings, which makes it clear that the BMW X2 belongs to the "X" series. The same applies to the sill lining that separates the body color and decorative elements. Rearview mirrors are painted in body color or glossy black for free. They have a turn signal repeater, electric control and heating functions. The BMW logo looks unusual on the back of the rack; this was not previously seen on the company's cars.

The back of the crossover received new lights with diode elements. Looking a little from the side, you find a beautiful transition of the upper deep line to the headlight. The trunk lid is a unique part with raised lines at the top and bottom. The cover is connected to the bumper, and the handle is integrated into the BMW x2 2019-2020 brand logo. At the top, there is a spoiler with an additional brake light with unpainted struts. Spoiler is an option. The style turned out to be unique against the background of competitors and other BMW models. There are enough innovations here, as well as attractive elements.

Familiar interior of the X2

Everything is done in the Company's corporate style. Of course there are a lot of improvements that are not available in other models, but the overall architecture is the same. The quality of the interior assembly and the quality of the trim materials are at the highest German level. 

Seats

In the basic version, the front row of seats is simple with heating and electric adjustment as an option. There are optional chairs with a small side support and there are sports chairs with a beautiful design. Leather on the seats is offered in different colors, but fabric is installed in the base. The back row of the BMW X2 is a 3-seater sofa with a folding armrest. There is not much free space, but a 12V socket and ceiling lighting are provided for passengers. The rear sofa can be folded to increase the trunk, or install a ski hatch with a cover.

The entire interior is illuminated on the decorative door inserts and center console; the color can be selected in the settings.

The instrument panel is again replaced as an option with a 12.3-inch display that already simulates analog sensors. A projection display is installed that displays the current speed, fuel level, and navigation data. 

The center console is represented by the 8.8-inch display of the iDrive multimedia system. Additional features include navigation, Apple CarPlay preparation, and traffic analysis for the Navigator.

Trunk

The trunk has a 470-liter volume. If you fold the back sofa in the proportion of 40:20:40, you get 1355 liters of volume. The trunk lid is equipped with an electric drive.

In the trunk, there are nets for small things and a 12V socket. As it has already been mentioned, you can install a ski bag.

Technical equipment

In the "basic" version, a 1.5-liter engine that develops no more than 140 HP of useful power and 220 N*m of torque is provided. It is combined with a 7-speed robotic gearbox. BMW X2 in this version overcomes the mark in the first "hundred" in 9.6 seconds and consumes about 6.3 liters of gasoline.
